Polygon Xtrada 8.0 Mountain Bike
The new Xtrada 8 is Polygon's top of the line hardtail alloy mountain bike and replaces the extremely popular Polygon Siskiu 7 from previous seasons. With several thousand of the Polygon Siskiu 7 sold globally last year, this spec level bike has been Polygon's most popular hardtail mountain bike to date. Polygon has listened to customer feedback and released the Xtrada 8 with some impressive upgrades such as a new Boost compatible frame, a better suspension fork, better gears and updated brakes.
The ALX super light 6061 hydroformed aluminium frame uses heat treated, hydroformed and butted tubing to give an optimal strength to weight ratio. The tapered headtube provides stable, front-end precision and the new Boost hub spacing on this frame allows for a stiffer wheel with more tyre clearance. The Boost system has also allowed Polygon to shorten the chainstays, which makes the back of the bike a lot easier to flick around corners. The frame comes internally routed, which provides cleaner lines to the bike and also reduces the chances of any cables getting snagged on trees or rocks while riding. Polygon is so confident in the performance of this frame that it has a lifetime warranty.
The Xtrada series utilises Polygon's new Wheel Fit Size System whereby each frame size is paired with the wheel size that best fits the rider and sets them up for optimal efficiency and power transfer. We pair 29˝ wheels with 18.5˝ and larger bikes, and more proportional, better-fitting 27.5˝ wheels for 17.5˝ and smaller bikes.
The Xtrada 8 build kit takes a step up, opting for Shimano's top of the line 1 x 11 XT M8000. The performance of the new XT M8000 is flawless - crisp and easy shifting, extremely durable and an all-day workhorse. The huge 11-46 tooth cassette means you won't miss having a double ring up front and you will have plenty of range for powering up long climbs. The clutch mechanism, which can be enabled and disabled with the flip of the grey lever at the top of the derailleur's parallelogram, is now externally adjustable with a 2mm hex key, a feature that allows riders to easily fine tune the amount of retention to their liking.
The suspension duties on the Xtrada 8 are handled by the new 2018 Rocksox Recon RL Solo Air fork which now benefits from the trickle-down technology of Sektor's stiff chassis and Reba's lightweight, motion control dampening. It features a15mm thru axle and a Lockout switch on the fork's leg to rapidly change from Open to Lock position and transform the way the bike behaves on the trail.
Completing the bike are Shimano M365 hydraulic disc brakes, a set of Entity XL2 wheels wrapped in Schwalbe Tough Tom tyres and a lightweight alloy Entity expert cockpit and Entity saddle and seatpost. If you are looking for a racing quality bike with durable and dependable components, the Polygon Xtrada 8.0 is the perfect bike for you.

All of our bicycles come with a Free Pro Build valued at $99. This means that your bicycle will be pre built by our professional mechanics. For your convenience, safety and comfort all our bikes are fully assembled prior to delivery. The bike is then packaged back into a box for secure shipment.
When your bike arrives, all you have to attach is the front wheel, the handlebar and pedals, everything else has been done – the headset has been adjusted, wheels trued, pedals and seat post greased, brakes and gears calibrated, and the tyres have been pumped up (please note upon arrival, in some cases you may need to add more air to tyres).
Most companies simply sell you the bike as it comes from the factory, which will require significant know-how to get your bike on the road. Currently we are the only Australian company providing this service, and have the 14 day test ride to back it up.
All the tools required to assemble the bike are included.
If you are unsure of how to assemble this bike after viewing the instruction videos above, we recommend you ask for help from someone with knowledge of how to use basic hand tools.
Please note, that all bicycles whether purchased online or instore, are mechanical devices and need to be serviced regularly to ensure proper functioning.
Whilst your new bicycle will have already gone through our Pro Build process, you will still need to complete some minor final assembly steps when you take your bicycle out of its box.
Please follow the video playlist below to correctly complete the setup of your new bike:
Assembly Time:
- 10-15min - You have assembled bikes before
- 15-25min - You are mechanically handy
- 30-40min - Never assembled a bike and working with tools isn't your thing
Unboxing your bike:
Start by carefully opening the top flap to expose the contents. You will see the bike with plenty of protective packaging and next to the rear wheel, the saddle & seatpost, a small cardboard box where your pedals, tools, bell and reflectors are. If you ordered any other products with the bike, it is likely they were placed on the bottom of the box as well. Remove all the loose items before pulling the bike out of the box and gently placing it on the floor.
Keep the box and all the protective packaging found on the bike in case you choose to change frame sizes, upgrade/downgrade the bike, or return the bike for a full refund under the 14 Day Test Ride Policy.
