If you're in search of the ultimate full suspension mountain bike to do it all - be it all-mountain, cross country, or enduro - then the Marin Wolf Ridge 8 is the bike for you. The Wolf Ridge 8 sports at its core a full carbon fibre unidirectional frame that features the revolutionary 160mm travel Naild R3ACT-2 Play suspension system which means it has the widest range of climbing to descending capacity on the market. No longer do you have to compromise on suspension travel while in search of pedalling efficiency. Up front is the superb RockShox Lyrik RCT3 suspension fork with 160mm of travel as well as the Boost spacing (110x15mm) thru-axle for optimal ride quality.

The Wolf Ridge 8's drivetrain features SRAM GX Eagle 1x12-speed components that take everything you love about SRAM's pioneering 1x drivetrains and increases its wear life, toughness, precision, and smooth, silent operation. The 12-speed cassette utilizes a 50T large cog that increases the range of gears so you can tackle anything and everything in your path. Shimano components are also utilized for brakes with their XT hydraulic disc brakes ensuring exceptional stopping power in all weather/trail conditions.

The 29er wheels feature Stan's NoTubes Flow MK3 rims and Stan's NoTubes Neo hubs with Boost spacing (110x15mm thru-axle front/148x12mm thru-axle rear) for superb performance and reliability. Topping the wheels are a set of WTB tyres - the Vigilante 29x2.3" up front and the Breakout 29x2.3" in the back.

Wolf Ridge Tech explanation by Matt Cipes, Marin Product Manager

Industry Reviews

"There is no question that the R3act-equipped Wolf Ridge has something special going on in the pedaling department. Hey, it's a massively huge 29er, which automatically qualifies it for lackluster acceleration and those three leg-sapping pedal strokes that follow each time you bog down in a G-out or are forced to push over a steep roller in a taller-than-anticipated gear selection. In spite of its big-wheel genetics, however, it is an efficient pedaling machine. My times were four to six seconds faster on my two-mile test climb, and I bettered most of my popular test loops. It defies reason that those events occurred on a thirty pound, softly sprung, 160-millimeter-travel bike with the fork and shock set wide open."

"When Marin launched the Wolf Ridge, they laid the hype on thick, dubbing it, “One ride to rule them all” while making hyperbolic performance claims we’ve heard a dozen times over. The thing is, Marin wasn’t lying. Their new bike isn’t just radically shaped, it delivers a ride experience unlike anything we’ve previously ridden. It may have 160mm of travel front and rear, but you wouldn’t know it when you get on the gas. It’s sprightly in ways you’d never expect from a 32-pound enduro rig, and easily matches the sprinting ability of some of our favorite short travel rigs. Indeed, the Wolf Ridge may well be the most efficient long travel 29er we’ve ever tested."

"Overall this is one impressive machine. You quite literally can’t buy another 160mm bike that pedals better than the Wolf Ridge while maintaining its supple and ground tracing performance. Cornering, climbing and descending are all incredibly close to being best in class. With a few small tweaks this could honestly be the do-it-all machine we all dream of. We’re excited to see the next evolution!"

Your bike will arrive in a custom Bicycles Online bike guard box as described in the below video.

All of our bicycles come with a Free Pro Build valued at $99. This means that your bicycle will be pre built by our professional mechanics. For your convenience, safety and comfort all our bikes are fully assembled prior to delivery. The bike is then packaged back into a box for secure shipment.

When your bike arrives, all you have to attach is the front wheel, the handlebar and pedals, everything else has been done – the headset has been adjusted, wheels trued, pedals and seat post greased, brakes and gears calibrated, and the tyres have been pumped up (please note upon arrival, in some cases you may need to add more air to tyres).

Most companies simply sell you the bike as it comes from the factory, which will require significant know-how to get your bike on the road. Currently we are the only Australian company providing this service, and have the 14 day test ride to back it up.

All the tools required to assemble the bike are included.

Please note, that all bicycles whether purchased online or instore, are mechanical devices and need to be serviced regularly to ensure proper functioning. New gear and brake cables, will stretch during the initial bed-in period, and will need to be adjusted after approximately 150-300km.

Whilst your new bicycle will have already gone through our Pro Build process, you will still need to complete some minor final assembly steps when you take your bicycle out of its box.

Please follow the video playlist below to correctly complete the setup of your new bike:

Assembly Time:

  • 10-15min - You have assembled bikes before
  • 15-25min - You are mechanically handy
  • 30-40min - Never assembled a bike and working with tools isn't your thing

Unboxing your bike:

Start by carefully opening the top flap to expose the contents. You will see the bike with plenty of protective packaging and next to the rear wheel, the saddle & seatpost, a small cardboard box where your pedals, tools, bell and reflectors are. If you ordered any other products with the bike, it is likely they were placed on the bottom of the box as well. Remove all the loose items before pulling the bike out of the box and gently placing it on the floor.

Keep the box and all the protective packaging found on the bike in case you choose to change frame sizes, upgrade/downgrade the bike, or return the bike for a full refund under the 14 Day Test Ride Policy.
