The Polygon Premier 4.0 Mountain Bike builds on last year’s already impressive model. New for this year the bike features some small but neat changes that not only improve comfort and control but also improve bike performance on and off road. The result is a versatile bike that sits comfortably in the line-up as a true off road mountain bike - throw on a pair of slicks however and the bike transforms into an adaptable all round city commuter.

Perhaps the most noticeable change in the Polygon Premier 4.0 is the upgraded suspension front fork, which now boasts 120mm of travel, instead of the industry standard 100mm. This raises your handlebars an additional 2cm during regular riding, increasing visibility and reducing pressure on the shoulders and neck. When the trail gets rocky however, the additional suspension travel, allows the bike to be ridden more aggressively.

Some of the less obvious upgrades on the bike include the handlebars which are wider and also feature oversized diameter. Securing the wider bar to the bike is the 4 bolt stem. Together all these reduces flex improves the bike feel and control.

The benefits of hydraulic brakes cannot be overstated. The Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes require only the slightest amount of lever pressure to safely slow the bike in any conditions. It’s in wet conditions that hydraulic disc brakes really outshine typical rim brakes, by using a disc brake, located away from the rim, which can pick up water off the road, the brakes provide consistent and reliable performance. This means that you won’t get that scratching noise or the brake surge so common on rim brakes.

The entire 24 speed drivetrain is Shimano, so you know that the all components will function together in harmony, and can easily be maintained and serviced. It’s all these features on the bike that mean when you are travelling at speed at your local trail, you will have confidence in the bike performing to your every input.

Lastly the looks of the bike will ensure that the Premier 4 will again be one of our best sellers.

When your bike arrives, all you have to attach is the front wheel, the handlebar and pedals, everything else has been done – the headset has been adjusted, wheels trued, pedals and seat post greased, brakes and gears calibrated, and the tyres have been pumped up (please note upon arrival, in some cases you may need to add more air to tyres).

Most companies simply sell you the bike as it comes from the factory, which will require significant know-how to get your bike on the road. Currently we are the only Australian company providing this service, and have the 14 day test ride to back it up.

How does my bike arrive? Bicycles Online

All the tools required to assemble the bike are included.

Please note, that all bicycles whether purchased online or instore, are mechanical devices and need to be serviced regularly to ensure proper functioning. New gear and brake cables, will stretch during the initial bed-in period, and will need to be adjusted after approximately 150-300km.

Whilst your new bicycle will have already gone through our Pro Build process, you will still need to complete some minor final assembly steps when you take your bicycle out of its box.

Please follow the video playlist below to correctly complete the setup of your new bike:

Assembly Time:

  • 10-15min - You have assembled bikes before
  • 15-25min - You are mechanically handy
  • 30-40min - Never assembled a bike and working with tools isn't your thing

Unboxing your bike:

Start by carefully opening the top flap to expose the contents. You will see the bike with plenty of protective packaging and next to the rear wheel, the saddle & seatpost, a small cardboard box where your pedals, tools, bell and reflectors are. If you ordered any other products with the bike, it is likely they were placed on the bottom of the box as well. Remove all the loose items before pulling the bike out of the box and gently placing it on the floor.

Keep the box and all the protective packaging found on the bike in case you choose to change frame sizes, upgrade/downgrade the bike, or return the bike for a full refund under the 14 Day Test Ride Policy.
