Polygon's high-end, high-performance Helios 800 road bike just got a performance boost. Introducing the Helios 800X Di2 Ultegra model. In previous models, Polygon utilised monocoque construction for the frame, utilising the highly regarded T700 carbon filaments. For 2012 Polygon whilst the frame looks very similar, however the way the bike is constructed is very different. The frame now uses tube to tube construction with Mitsubishi Rayon filaments. Mitsubishi make better prefrabicated tubes, where as Toray specialise in filament production, so the result? Well it saves the precious weight in the frame. The Shimano Ultegra Di2 ups the ante in terms of shifting performance. Shimano's Ultegra Di2 shifting system is fast and accurate, smooth and consistent and engineered to be highly durable and dependable. Whether you pedal for fun, fitness or competition, you'll appreciate the top-level performance the 800X Di2 Ultegra delivers.
The wheelset has been matched to the Di2 groupset, being Shimano's latest tubeless offering the WH-6700-G Ultegra. The ability to run tubeless reduces the reciprocating mass, which is ultimately where it counts.
Furthermore, this bike is set up with Ritchey WCS carbon stem, handlebar and seatpost, as well as a Fizik Arione saddle for efficient and comfortable power transfer. With a setup like this, I think its fair to say that black is the new fast!

Product Reviews
Excellent value for money.
Posted by Mark Dawson on 31st Mar 2013
Please note my comments are that of a casual rider, I am not even a member of a cycling club. I got back into cycling last year to get fit after a 20 year break - back when most bikes had a heavy steel frame.
Initially I purchased a “brand name” aluminium hybrid bike from my LBS and was pleasantly surprised at how light it was and the ease it could be ridden fast. However I wanted a little more speed and started investigating road bikes. Horrified by the prices of road bikes at my LBS, I was amazed at the excellent value of the Polygon Helios 800X when I came across it at Bicyclesonline.com.au.
I was a little worried that a lightweight carbon fibre frame will be flimsy but my first ride dispelled those fears. It was easy to ride at high speed for some distance and climbing hills was no problem. The Ultegra Di2 shift works beautifully and the bike handles nicely. It is easily the best bike I have ridden.
The good:
Ease to use website when ordering.
The bike is a quality product, a nicely finished frame fitted with quality components.
Bicyclesonline.com.au price, excellent value for money.
Bicyclesonline.com.au after sales service.
The bad:
The courier tracking did not work (the fault was with the courier not Bicyclesonline.com.au).
The rear derailleur hanger was bent in transport (fixed by Bicyclesonline.com.au thus the good after sales service).
The main chain link rivet was not pressed together fully so the link was riding on top of the rear sprocket and jumping in two gears (I fixed this myself with a Zinn road bike manual and an Aldi chain link tool).
No bell supplied (a legal requirement if you want to ride on public roads and bikepaths).
Awesome
