Have been riding this bike for about 5 months now. Gearing is really smooth compared to my previous entry levell bike. Have set it up with rack, panniers and mud guards. So much better than a heavy backpack. Only a couple of critisisms, had to get a new saddle as the original was like a brick and the trigger on the shifters is too close to the handlebars. Can't get your grip under it. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.
Rides like a dream

This is pretty good bike for commuters. It's been a long time since last time i rode a bike. Now I ve been using it for going to work and around town in Sydney. It is a hybrid so I will try it on offroad later to see how it handles. The value is good. Assembling is easy, but a video showing how to balance the brakes is much appriciated as it is hard for a rookie like me to get the brakes balanced.
As good as a Giant 0 at half the price.

Excellent service from bicyclesonline staff who were kind enough to let me test ride several bikes in the store.
I was very surprised with the Heist 5.0, I also tested the Giant Roam 0 which was the equivalent bike at twice the price. I found the Heist 5.0 more stable at high speed and thus a better commuter bike. Giant was more agile but not really what you want for a commuter bike.
I need to modify the bike a bit, better peddles, adjustable stem, bar end grip. Now very happy with it, Heist 5.0 is a solid well built bike.

After reading many positive reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and order it from bicycle online. As the bike was on back order, it did took a while for it to arrive.
However, I must say that the customer service has been top-notched! I was contacted via email and phone call regularly to keep me up to date with the shipping. The friendly sales reps have been very helpful and they actually know what they are selling.
As for the bike, it was nicely packed and just required minimal reassembling. The frame is solidly built and all the parts are of the highest quality! Unable my old road bike, it rides beautifully over uneven roads and cycling path.
It is hard to find fault on this bike for its price and you are likely to pay up to $1000 for a similar one elsewhere.
I am 177cm tall and a Medium frame fits me nicely. Not too big or too small.

Smooth ride, efficient gear changing although some issues with the smallest sprocket as it's a bit jumpy. Issue as well with front disc brake scraping but fixed it watching Youtube videos. Overall, excellent hybrid. Would recommend it to a friend.
Gear Change position

Nice bike and what I anticipated performance wise. Little disappointed with the position of the RHS gear changer. There is not enough room to get a full grip in the right handle bar.
